At Nicole Uniquole’s request,Blok Plaatmateriaal has launched a new collection, titled Palaces. Details from historic locationshave been used as a reference pointfor a contemporary translation in print.
This is directly integrated into high-qualityHigh-Pressure Laminate (HPL) sheet material. For the first series Nicole Uniquole choosethe stunning wall tapestry of Masterly’s Palazzo Francesco Turati as the base for the collection. All graphic designs are executeby Bert Timmermans (Workingbert). The collection can be adapted to individual locations in architectural settings
Workingbert’s series use digital printing to its fullest capacity;countless ways of color gradients used on large scales andat the same time the smallest perfect precision is used in sharpness and fading. A perfect match with Blok plaatmateriaal to showcase their knowledge of digital printing on HPL.
For this Palaces collection Workingbert has been working from hand dyed paper borders, spray paint experiments on flowers and photograms. Their combination provides a contemporary translation of the richly decorated borders of flowers, geometry and the wall upholstery of Palazzo Francesco Turati.
The enclosed garden , hortus conclusus, a well known subjectin painting from the middle ages and renaissance, where lovers secretly met, letters were read and thousands of flowers grown, was the reason to give the seven different designs their latin names.
